Why do you need a quilt?
So why do you need a quilt? There are so many reasons why, but here are a few to consider:
- To grace a new home
- To celebrate a marriage
- For a student leaving home for the first time
- To celebrate the birth of a baby
- To decorate the baby’s crib or cot (please note that babies under the age of one year should not sleep under a quilt as it may be too warm for them)
- A small quilt can be used to wrap up baby in its car seat
- A photo of the new arrival can be incorporated on the quilt top or backing by arrangement. See COMMISSIONS
- To use as a play-mat
- To commemorate a wedding or anniversary
- On retirement
- To create a photographic fabric family tree
- Any photograph that can be scanned can be incorporated into a design by arrangement. See COMMISSIONS
- Just to ring the changes in your room!
- To own a piece of textile art which is useful as well as beautiful
- You can display your quilt on your bed, your sofa or hang it on the wall
- Any quilt can be hung on a wall as a piece of decorative art, but you will need to let me know if you want to do this as I will need to add a hanging sleeve as part of the completion process
What nicer present could you give than an individually made functional but beautiful gift that will be used and enjoyed every day and night? And don’t forget that you can always buy a present for yourself!
Quilts come in many sizes and can be used for warmth and/or decoration on beds and sofa throws or as a lap blankets or comforter.
A quilt is very versatile and can be used all year around. In winter put your quilt over your duvet or blankets. In summer use it as a light cover over just a top sheet.
