Welcome to my world of Quilts
Patchwork and quilting is something that can really take over your life, in the nicest possible way, and I don’t for one minute regret my evolving journey with fabric, colour and shape as it continues to brighten up my days.
To misquote a common phrase – ‘a quilt is for life and not just for the present’. So when you are thinking of buying a quilt for yourself or someone else buy an artisan made quilt that will last a lifetime of love and use.

Why ‘artisan’? (See TERMINOLOGY). Well my quilts are individually crafted by me, at home (a non smoking environment), using some of the finest 100% cotton fabrics. My quilts are a mixture of traditional and contemporary patterns with a dash of my own personality. There is a place for mass produced items, but this is NOT it.
Each quilt is lovingly crafted by me and is a personal work of functional textile art to be used and enjoyed. For me, the idea of being an artisan is encapsulated by the phrase ‘Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful’ (William Morris – 1834 to 1896 – English Arts & Craft textile designer and artist).

I spend a considerable amount of time thinking about and planning each quilt, starting with an idea or a pattern seen in the real world or a fabric. The ideas percolate until I begin to see the finished quilt in my mind and then the drawing out and cutting begins. It is so exciting to see my ideas turn into finished pieces and sometimes they even surprise me with their unexpected beauty.
Please go to THE GALLERY and browse the images of some of my previous quilts which now live with their new owners. If you fall in love with one of them, I will see if I can make you another interpretation of that style. No two quilts I make are identical, but we can design something similar together.
I invite you to go to QUILTS FOR SALE and see the quilts that are waiting for new homes. Browse the patterns and fabulous fabrics. The choice is yours, and the pleasure is all mine in making these wonderful works of art.

Because each quilt is individually made, you can have some input in its finishing. For example you can supply fabric to be used for the backing of the quilt which compliments your room scheme. Once finished you will have a reversible item which can ring the changes in your room setting depending on which side you have on show. Alternatively you can choose your own design and colours. Go to COMMISSIONS for more details.
There will never be a lot of quilts for sale at any one time, as it takes me a while to get each quilt top finished. The quilt tops will change regularly, so please do visit again if you can’t find something you like in QUILTS FOR SALE or THE GALLERY. Alternatively contact me to start a no obligation discussion about what you are looking for.
